7-Days Chimpanzee trekking and Big5 Wildlife Safari

Uganda is known for its incredible biodiversity, and these three national parks offer a diverse range of wildlife and ecosystems. Kibale is famous for its chimpanzee tracking, Murchison Falls is home to the “Big Five” (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros), and Kidepo Valley National Park is known for its remote and pristine landscapes.

Itenariry

Day 1: Entebbe to Kibale National Park

After breakfast, embark on a road journey from Entebbe to Kibale National Park, which takes around 5-6 hours.

On arrival, Check in at your selected accommodation inside or near Kibale National Park. For lunch and relaxation as we wait for chimpanzee trekking the next day. Spend the evening enjoying the serene forest environment.

Day 2: Kibale National Park – Chimpanzee Tracking

Have an early breakfast at your lodge. Head to Kibale National Park for a thrilling chimpanzee tracking experience. Guided by experienced rangers, you’ll have the opportunity to observe these fascinating primates up close. After the tracking adventure, return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you can choose to relax or explore the nearby Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, known for its birdlife and swamp walks.

Day 3: Kibale to Murchison Falls National Park

Depart Kibale National Park after breakfast for the long drive to Murchison Falls National Park (about 7-8 hours). We will have a stopover for lunch on the way and reach in murchison later in the evening. Check in at your chosen accommodation within or near the park. Rest and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Day 4: Murchison Falls National Park – Game Drive & Boat Safari

Start your day early with a game drive in the park, looking for wildlife like lions, elephants, giraffes, and a variety of antelope species. Return to your lodge for lunch and some relaxation. In the afternoon, embark on a boat safari on the Nile River to Murchison Falls, where you can spot hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird species. Hike to the top of Murchison Falls if you wish to get a closer view of this incredible natural wonder.

Day 5: Murchison Falls to Kidepo Valley National Park

After breakfast, begin your drive to Kidepo Valley National Park (approximately 7-8 hours). Have a stopover in gulu town for lunch and proceed to kidepo national park. Arrive at your accommodation in or near the park. Enjoy the evening with the stunning backdrop of the park’s landscapes.

Day 6: Kidepo Valley National Park – Full-Day Game Drive

This day is dedicated to exploring the unique and remote Kidepo Valley National Park. Enjoy a full-day game drive to see the park’s diverse wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and a variety of predators. The park’s remote location and fewer visitors make for an exclusive and memorable experience. Return to your accommodation in the evening.

Day 7: Departure

After breakfast, prepare to leave Kidepo Valley National Park. Drive back to Entebbe, which is quite a long journey (around 7-8 hours). Depending on your flight schedule, you may need to stay in Entebbe for the night before departing the next day.
