8-Days Birding Safari in Uganda
Birding often requires patience. Birds can be skittish, so approach quietly and move slowly to avoid scaring them away. Birds are most active in the early morning and late afternoon. Plan your birding activities during these times for the best chances of spotting a wide variety of species.
Drive to Mabamba Swamp, which is located on the shores of Lake Victoria and is approximately a 1-2 hour drive from Entebbe. The main attraction at Mabamba Swamp is the Shoebill Stork, one of the most iconic and rare bird species in Africa. Your birding guide will take you on a guided boat trip or canoe ride through the swamp to spot this magnificent bird. Keep your binoculars and camera ready to capture this remarkable sight. At lunch, Enjoy a packed lunch or have lunch at a local restaurant near the swamp. then in the afternoon continuing your birdwatching adventure in the Mabamba Swamp area, exploring the various habitats and trails. In the late afternoon, return to Entebbe, where you can relax and prepare for the rest of your birding trip.

After breakfast, depart for Murchison Falls National Park (approximately 5-6 hours’ drive). Birding stops along the way, with the chance to spot species in different habitats. Arrive at your lodge in Murchison Falls National Park in the late afternoon. Evening birding near the lodge with potential sightings of birds like the African Grey Hornbill, Marabou Stork, and Spotted Morning Thrush.

Full day birding within Murchison Falls National Park. Then after lunch proceed for a boat trip to the base of Murchison Falls for unique birding opportunities. Look out for the African Fish Eagle, Goliath Heron, and other waterbirds.

Morning and afternoon game drives sighting different birds. Visit the delta area for more bird species. Explore the park’s grasslands and woodlands for savannah species. Then look out for the African Wattled Lapwing, Denham’s Bustard, and Rock Pratincole.

Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park (approximately 7-8 hours’ drive). En route, enjoy birdwatching at the Budongo Forest and other birding hotspots. In the evening arrival in queen and Check-in at your lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Early morning after breakfast proceed for a full day birding in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Morning game drive for savannah and grassland birds. Then in the afternoon after lunch proceed for a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel for waterbirds.

Wake up early morning and take breakfast and then proceed for Morning birding in the Maramagambo Forest, which is rich in forest-dwelling species. Keep an eye out for the Green-breasted Pitta and White-naped Pigeon.
After we will go back for lunch at the lodge then later in the afternoon proceed to explore various habitats within Queen Elizabeth National Park for additional bird species. In the evening return to the lodge for a farewell dinner and to celebrate your birding adventure.
