5-Days Gorilla and Chimpanzee Trekking Uganda

A 5-day trip to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Kibale National Park in Uganda would provide you with an incredible opportunity to explore the country’s rich biodiversity, including its famous mountain gorillas and chimpanzees.

Here’s a suggested itinerary for your trip:

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda. Meet our guide/driver who will transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The journey from Entebbe to Bwindi takes approximately 8-9 hours, so it’s recommended to start early in the morning. Arrival in the evening and check in to your lodge near the park and rest for the evening.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Wake up early and have breakfast. Head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking rules and regulations. Embark on an exhilarating gorilla trekking experience in the dense forests of Bwindi. Spend up to  hours observing a gorilla family in their natural habitat. After the trek, visit batwa community and return to your lodge to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park

After breakfast, depart from Bwindi and drive to Kibale National Park. The journey from Bwindi to Kibale takes approximately 5-6 hours. Arrive at Kibale National Park and check in to your lodge. In the afternoon, you can take a leisurely walk around the lodge or visit a nearby tea plantation.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Swamp Walk

Have an early breakfast and head to the park headquarters for a briefing on chimpanzee tracking. Embark on an exciting chimpanzee tracking adventure in Kibale National Park. Spend time observing and learning about these fascinating primates in their natural habitat. In the afternoon, take a guided nature walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, known for its rich birdlife and other wildlife.

Day 5: Departure

After breakfast, check out from your lodge. Depart from Kibale National Park and drive back to Entebbe. Depending on your departure time, you may have the option to visit the Royal Drum Makers or the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre in Entebbe. Arrive at Entebbe International Airport for your onward journey.
