Day 1: Arrival in Kigali, Rwanda

Arrive at Kigali International Airport. Meet our guide who will transfer you to your hotel in Kigali. Take some time to rest and recover from your journey. In the afternoon, you can explore the city of Kigali, visit the Genocide Memorial Centre to learn about Rwanda’s history, or enjoy some local cuisine. Overnight stay in Kigali.

Day 2: Akagera National Park, Rwanda

After an early breakfast, depart from Kigali and drive to Akagera National Park (approximately 2.5 to 3 hours). Arrive at the park and check in at your lodge or camp. Embark on a morning game drive in the park, accompanied by an experienced guide. Akagera is home to a variety of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, buffaloes, and predators like lions and leopards. Enjoy a packed lunch in the park. In the afternoon, take a boat safari on Lake Ihema, where you can spot hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird species. Return to your accommodation in Akagera for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda

After an early breakfast, depart from Akagera and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda (approximately 7 to 8 hours, including border crossing). Enjoy the scenic drive through picturesque landscapes and rural villages. Arrive in Bwindi and check into your lodge or camp. Rest and relax for the evening, preparing for the gorilla trekking experience the next day. Overnight stay near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Wake up early and have breakfast. Head to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking rules and guidelines. Meet your experienced guide and trek through the dense forest in search of the rare and endangered mountain gorillas. Spend up to one hour in the presence of a gorilla family, witnessing their behavior and interactions. After the trek, return to your accommodation and rest. In the evening, you can choose to relax at the lodge or explore the nearby community. Overnight stay near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 5: Optional Activities in Bwindi or Travel to Kigali

Depart from Bwindi after breakfast. Cross the border into Rwanda and continue the journey to Kigali (approximately 4 to 5 hours). Arrive in Kigali and check into your hotel. Spend the evening at leisure, exploring the city or enjoying some relaxation time. Overnight stay in Kigali.
