Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi

Welcome to Kenya! Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you’ll be greeted by your driver/guide and transferred to your hotel in Nairobi. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure to relax and settle in.

Day 2: Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve

7 Days Kenya Highlight Safari

After breakfast, meet your driver for a safari briefing before departing for the dramatic semi-arid scrublands of the Samburu region. You’ll arrive in Samburu in time for lunch. After lunch, embark on your first game drive, searching for resident wildlife like the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Beisa oryx, and the blue-necked Somali ostrich, rarely seen elsewhere in Kenya. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 3: Full Day in Samburu National Reserve

Today is dedicated to exploring Samburu National Park. Enjoy morning and evening game drives, taking in the park’s spectacular scenery, rivers, and forests. Samburu boasts diverse wildlife, including reticulated giraffes, Grevy’s zebras, leopards, hippos, elephants, lions, and crocodiles along the Ewaso Nyiro River. Birdwatchers will delight in the park’s rich birdlife.

Day 4: Samburu to Lake Naivasha

After an early breakfast, depart for Lake Naivasha, arriving in time for lunch. Enjoy some leisure time at the lodge in the afternoon. Consider an optional hour-long boat ride ($30 per person) on the freshwater lake for birdwatching and hippo viewing. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara National Reserve

Take a well-deserved break before embarking on your first evening game drive. Dinner and overnight stay at your camp.

Day 6: Full Day in Masai Mara National Reserve

Return to your camp in the afternoon and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at your camp.

Day 7: Masai Mara to Nairobi Departure

  • Passengers should bring only soft-sided bags on safaris.
  • Gratuities: Tipping is part of Kenyan culture and as much as we insist that it is voluntary, it is important to note that it is much appreciated.
